Week 17 of 52 - Love Letter

"What cannot letters inspire? They have souls; they can speak; they have in them all that force which expresses the transports of the heart...."—Héloïse to Abelard

This is aimed at Valentines day of course.  It was lovely doing this one, i even crimped my hair for it, but you can't really see it in this picture. I'm starting a new thing with Self Capture, every week i won't just post a picture but also a song. Not one that i've made but one that i've found and thought that it would create more of a mood to the picture and all.

-So here is the song- Dream A Little Dream Of Me, by The Mamas And Papas, an old weird band i've found, love em!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY ♥

Week 16 of 52 - Forest Fairy

There are fairies at the bottom of the garden!
They often have a dance on summer nights;
The butterflies and bees make a lovely little breeze.
Did you know they could sit upon the moon beams
And pick a little star to make a fan,
And dance away in the middle of the air?
Well, they can.
-Rose Fyleman

This was fun! Dressing up and all, Edes helped me alot with this one, thank you darling sister.
This was take at the Noordhoek Common this afternoon, so beautiful there, I'm hoping to do more pictures there in the future!

Week 15 of 52 - Broken Strings

-Alone in the darkness a puppet awakens to its strings, broken.

"Don't become a puppet to other peoples desires, live your life as you intend it to be.”
-Steven Redhead, The Solution

It was hard doing this one, it was hot, and my hair was driving me mad, and I couldn't find the right place to capture it. But, I chose this one, why? I don't know.

Week 13 of 52 - Sailor Girl

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky.  And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
 -John Masefield

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”  -Mark Twain

Nautical.

Dad's sailor hat.

School has come way too soon! :(

Week 12 of 52 - Pre -Raphaelite

“He feeds upon her face by day and night,
And she with true kind eyes looks back on him,
Fair as the moon and joyful as the light:
Not wan with waiting, not with sorrow dim;
Not as she is, but was when hope shone bright;
Not as she is, but as she fills his dream.”
-Christina Rossetti

This one was quite fun doing, even though I had to move most of the furniture out of the lounge.
Edes (My sister) helped me arrange everything. I've been inspired by Pre-Raphaelites thanks to my father, who gave me a book about them for Christmas.
But I've always loved Pre-Raphaelite pictures, I'm so glad I could do something about them.

Week 11 of 52 - The Dancer

The Dancer
Class is over, the teacher
and the pianist gone,
but one dancer
in a pale blue
leotard stays
to practice alone without music,
turning grand jetes
through the haze of late afternoon.
Her eyes are focused
on the balancing point
no one else sees
as she spins in this quiet
made of mirrors and light—
a blue rose on a nail—
then stops and lifts
her arms in an oval pause
and leans out
a little more, a little more,
there, in slow motion
upon the air.
- David Tucker
I know, I've left this picture for the last minute, it been a crazy week.
Merry 2013!
